Thirty years behind a camera and I've never taken the time to write about what I see through the viewfinder. That changes now.
This blog is where I'll share the stories behind the images — what was happening the moment before the shutter fired, what made a particular session click, and the honest lessons that come from three decades of photographing people at their most real.
What to Expect
I'll be writing about sports photography — the early mornings, the sideline positioning, the moment a wrestler's hand hits the mat and you either got it or you didn't. About portrait sessions and what it actually takes to get someone to stop performing for the camera. About events, the logistical puzzle of being in the right place at the right time when everything is moving at once.
And occasionally, gear. But mostly people.
Why Now
Clients ask me all the time: how do you know where to stand? The honest answer is thirty years of standing in the wrong place first. This is my attempt to share some of what I've learned — not as a tutorial, but as a practitioner who's still figuring it out.
If you've ever wondered what goes into the images you see on this site, you're in the right place.
